Comme tous les ans, l’International Association of Professional Birth Photographer organise un concours – réunissant plus de 1 000 photographes professionnel·le·s venu·e·s de 52 pays différents — et élit les meilleures photos d’accouchement. Ces clichés sont répartis en cinq catégories : “Travail”, “Accouchement”, “Naissance en détails”, “Premières 48 heures” et “Post-partum”.

Aussi crues qu’émouvantes, ces images témoignent de la beauté et de la brutalité de ces évènements miraculeux. Sang, liquide amniotique et placenta : ces instants sont dévoilés sans aucun filtre. Afin de les représenter le plus authentiquement possible, les photographes s’immiscent au plus près des familles, dans les hôpitaux ou à leur domicile. Entre panique, douleur, pleurs et bonheur, ces images mettent en exergue les émotions fluctuantes de la naissance.
