Watch Mr Eazi Turn Up With His Mentee, Joeboy In The Video For 'Faaji'
Back in June, Mr Eazi announced that he would be setting up The Eazi Sound Foundation — a body conceived with the aim of empowering emerging African artists. Formally launching on August 1st, the foundation has officially introduced the first of its 99 acts, Joeboy.
Discovered by Mr Eazi last year, Joeboy is a talented Nigerian singer who launched himself into the music industry with a number of amazing covers, including Mr Eazi's 2017 hit, "Pour Me Water" and a masterful mashup of Nigerian hits.
After featuring on a few songs with equally obscure artists, Joeboy has landed his big break with "Faaji", an E Kelly-produced track featuring Mr Eazi, who also provided artist development and mentorship, as well as funding for the up-and-comer.
On this irresistible bop, Joeboy let's us know that he can party all day if that's what suits him, inviting us to join he and Eazi's pool party, depicted in the vibrant Adasa Cookey-directed video.
Both Eazi and Joeboy have great synergy on "Faaji", singing in both English and Yoruba on their perfectly coupled verses. The track features additional vocals from Ajebutter22, adding volume to the brilliance of this debut collaboration.
