6-Year-Old Emmanuella Samuel Becomes Africa’s Youngest YouTube Award Winner

Emmanuella Samuel, the 6-year-old, Nigeria-born YouTube comedienne has been having a banner 2016 – which she just topped off with a coveted CNN feature, right after becoming Africa's youngest YouTube award winner.


Emmanuella, who got started filming comedy videos at the age of five became famous after one of the several Mark Angel’s comedy skits she featured in – This Is Not My Real Face – went viral, and since then her weekly skits have all averaged 1 million views on YouTube.

On how she knew comedy was what she was meant to do, Emmanuella shared on social media:

"I knew I could do comedy when I realized that I could make the people around me laugh – especially my classmates."


Earlier this year, Emmanuella won two awards at the Afro Australia Music and Movie Awards in Sydney, Australia where she was officially crowned the Princess of Comedy by the Australian government.
