Odera Igbokwe Reimagines The Cast Of 'Sailor Moon' As Badass Black Women

Some of us were lucky enough to grow up on the girl-power anime cult classic, Sailor Moonand one brilliant artist is reimagining the iconic cast of that perfect show with some melanin goodness – somehow making it even more iconic.

Odera Igbokwe is an illustrator and painter who is constantly creating more inclusive illustrations, that celebrate the diversity of people in the african diaspora, and shows that we can also exist in fantastical realms.

On his Patreon, Igbokwe spoke about why he creates inclusive illustrations:

"I studied Illustration at Rhode Island School of Design, and West African dance at Brown University.

I grew up with Sailor Moon and Final Fantasy in one hand and 90s R&B dance routines and voyages to Nigeria in the other.

So all my life I've been pushing both worlds together."
