Last year, 2005 Sosoliso plane crash survivor, Kechi Okwuchi found herself in the finals of the 12th season of America's Got Talent, thanks to her powerful voice and unbreakable spirit.
Although she didn't win, she has now been considered for the first season of the show's spin-off, America's Got Talent: The Champions, where her amazing performance earned her a golden buzzer from the show's toughest judge, Simon Cowell.
Kechi took to the stage in a sparkling dress and showcased her improved vocals with an emotional rendition of Calum Scott's "You Are the Reason". The talented singer said that being on the show helped her build her confidence, as she is now no longer seen as just a burn victim.
While Simon initially teased Kechi by saying, "I'm going to be honest with you. I didn't really like it that much", he eventually added that he "actually loved [her performance]", hitting the coveted golden buzzer and sending the 28-year-old straight to the live shows.
This stamp of approval from Simon Cowell, who said his biggest regret was not hitting the golden buzzer for her the first time around, should do wonders for her confidence, as we all know that impressing him is no easy feat. We can't wait to see more amazing performances from her.
