The Long-Awaited Third Season Of 'The Crown' Will Be Here In November

The excellent Olivia Colman is finally ready to don the crown previously worn by Claire Foy.

We've been waiting for ages, but now the time has almost come. As Deadline reports, a date for the release of the third season of The Crown on Netflix has finally been made public. It'll be out on November 17 2019, almost two years after Season 2, which subscribers to the platform still have time to catch up on in a binge-watching session sometime before November.

Making quite a big leap through time, this unexpected third season will be set in 1964, featuring some of the key events of the time: the rise of the Beatles, the British World Cup victory two years later, and much more.

As for the cast, new faces will be replacing some of those we'd been watching from the start of the series: Olivia Colman (The Favorite) will take over from Claire Foy to play Elizabeth II alongside Tobias Menzies (Outlander) and Helena Bonham Carter (Sweeney Todd), among others.

The first two seasons of The Crown are available on Netflix.
