Michonne Takes Back Control In The Trailer For Season 10B Of 'The Walking Dead'

The Whisperers get serious in the second part of this promising season. Spoiler warning.

After eight new episodes, The Walking Dead is now in its traditional winter break and won't be back until February 2020. To keep fans happy in the meantime, AMC has unveiled a first trailer showing what awaits Daryl, Carol, Michonne and the rest of the gang, several of whom have fallen into the trap of Alpha's scheming. Her Whisperers start getting nasty after outing the traitor Dante, who had been spying on the inhabitants of Alexandria for several months before killing Siddiq.

The second part of Season 10 of The Walking Dead promises a bit more action. Daryl's group is trapped in the cave where the Whisperers keep their mob, and the first episode of the second part looks set to be intense and anxiety-inducing. The trailer also shows several images from Michonne and Virgil's trip to Tangier Island, where she plans to find weapons to fight Alpha's troops. Finally, Negan's choice will also be key, as his intentions remain mysterious and he's been spending time with the Whisperers.

But the most striking image in the trailer is Judith's gesture to Daryl. Michonne's adopted daughter repaints the biker's favorite leather jacket, a souvenir of his late companion Rick, which had got burnt. Some fans see this as a sign that Andrew Lincoln will be returning to The Walking Dead, after he left to make a trilogy of movies about his character, but Judith's attention is no doubt symbolic and will mark Daryl's leadership over the communities. As a reminder, Danai Gurira will be leaving the series for good at some point over the next eight episodes.
