Luke Perry's Last Ever Episode Of 'Riverdale' Will Be Out This Week

The actor passed away on March 4 this year following a stroke.

On March 4 2019, Luke Perry, known by two different generations for his roles in teen series Beverly Hills 90210 and Riverdale, passed away following a severe stroke. The Riverdale screenwriters were caught off guard and had to revise the screenplay to find a way to handle the actor's unexpected death. Almost two months after he left us, the time has now come for his final episode to be screened.

For now, we don't know how the series will tackle Luke Perry's absence. There aren't really that many options in the circumstances. Riverdale could hint that Fred Andrews has left town – that's the least dramatic option – or it could orchestrate the death of the character off-screen. Whatever happens, the screenwriters for the series know that it'd be better not to recast the role: that would be the worst of the options available to them, without a shadow of a doubt.
