It's Official: The 'Money Heist' Thieves Will Be Back For A Fourth Season
The fightback has only just begun!
The Professor, Tokyo, newcomer Marseille and the rest of the gang haven't even begun their latest heist, and yet it's already been confirmed that they'll be back for a fourth season of Money Heist. Netflix confirmed to Spanish newspaper El Periódico that the team wearing Dali masks would be back for a new set of episodes at the presentation in Madrid of the imminent third season of the Spanish hit series, which will be back on the platform on July 19.
"They're a group of people who still have a lot to say. It took us quite a long time to decide, we wanted to respect our work. The success of the series around the world has been so crazy", said Álex Pina, showrunner of the series.
The third season, entitled Part 3, will contain eight episodes. Like Seasons 1 and 2, which formed a single season when the show was first screened on Antena 3, Álex Pina has designed Seasons 3 and 4 as a bloc, with a linked plot. Filming began back in November 2018. Season 4 is still being filmed and should have the same number of episodes.
Coming back to Season 3, it will be set two years after the spectacular heist at the Royal Mint in Madrid. The gang of thieves, scattered to the four corners of the globe, will come together again to help one of their own, who is being held prisoner and tortured in an unknown location. The Professor (Álvaro Morte), Tokyo (Ursula Corberó), Denver (Jaime Lorente) & co. will be getting support from several mysterious new characters, including the famous Marseille, played by Luka Peros.
The decision to renew Money Heist is certainly a logical one: according to Netflix, it's the most-watched non-English series in the world.
