And that’s a wrap for The Mandalorian, one of the future and very first original tv series by Disney+, the streaming platform of the American giant. Before focusing on the Marvel super-heroes and their emblematic villains, Mickey’s studio decided to seduce potential subscribers with the most popular saga in the world, Star Wars. Needless to say, there is a lot of expectations on Jon Favreau’s shoulders. The unofficial showrunner, to whom we owe Iron Man and The Jungle Book, wrote the entire season.

The show will take place between The Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens on planet Mandalore, located in the Outer Rim. It will take the audience into the life of the Mandalorian community, a belligerent people who are known for forging the armors of the hitmen Boba and Jango Fett.

The show will tell the story of a Mandalorian, both a loner and a gifted shooter, who escapes the New Republic’s authority by traveling in the galaxy. Pedro Pascal landed the role after his great performances in both Narcos and Game of Thrones.

The Chilean actor will be surrounded by famous faces such as Giancarlo "Gus Fring" Esposito, Nick Nolte (The Prince of Tides), Gina Carano (Deadpool), Werner Herzog (Jack Reacher), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl "Apollo Creed" Weathers and Omid Abtahi (American Gods). To complete this list of talents, we know that composer Ludwig Göransson, recently awarded by an Oscar for the soundtrack of Black Panther, will be in charge of the space opera score.

Hopefully, we can expect a first trailer of The Mandalorian for the next Star Wars Celebration which will be held in Chicago from April 11 to 15. Jon Favreau’s show will star at the inauguration of Disney+ which will be launched at the end of 2019 in the US and in 2020 in the rest of the world.

The wraps of the principal photography should likely allow a second Star Wars show to start shooting: the prequel of Rogue One. It will tell the story of Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna on the big screen.
