Filming For Season 2 Of 'The Umbrella Academy' Has Now Begun

The Hargreeves will soon be back.

Sir Reginald's crazy academy will soon be opening its doors once again. Netflix has just confirmed that filming has begun for a new batch of episodes of The Umbrella Academy, several months after it was renewed for a second season. The adaptation of the comics by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá was remarkably successful on the streaming platform, with 45 million subscribers watching the series during its first month on Netflix.

Aidan Gallagher, who plays the young Number Five, shared the exciting news on his Instagram account.

Without giving too much away, the end of Season 1 of The Umbrella Academy ended with a journey through time, as Vanya finally discovered the full extent of her powers. This second installment will also be filmed in Toronto, under the mysterious working title of "Mercury". Let's hope the family of weirdos will be back next year.

The first season of The Umbrella Academy is available in full on Netflix.
