Billie Eilish Will Compose And Perform The Song For The Next James Bond Movie
The young singer succeeds Sam Smith, and becomes the youngest artist to perform a song for the famous franchise.
Billie Eilish has just had a pretty good year. Barely turned 18 years old when she made the list of the most listened-to artists of 2019 (6 billion streams on Spotify alone), and four nominations in the main Grammy Award categories - at only 18 years old.
And just when you thought her track record was already jaw-dropping, here's a new line to add to it, and not the least. Uproxx informs us that Billie Eilish will produce the track that will serve as the theme song for the next James Bond movie, No Time To Die.
After hinting about it for a while on social media, she confirmed the news in a statement, writing: "It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock..."
She thus succeeds Sam Smith, to whom we owed "Writing's on the Wall" for Spectre, Adèle with "Skyfall" or Alicia Keys and Jack White with the superb "Another Way to Die".
And you probably won't have to wait too long before checking out the song, knowing that the movie will be released in theatres on April 8 and that the track should be available even before then.
