adidas' Latest Sneaker Release Provides Unlimited Metro Rides For 1 Year
adidas is stepping things up and bringing the people what they really want this year. The massive sneaker conglomerate already has us patiently awaiting its upcoming collection with Dragon Ball Z, and now they're bringing even more perks to their kicks with a sneaker that also doubles as free public transportation for a full year.
adidas latest trainer is the EQT Support 93/Berlin and was inspired by Berlin's subway seat aesthetic. Featuring a camouflage-style design of red, blue, black and white, they're accented by a mock train ticket on the tongue to bring the look full-circle.
Here's the kicker though: they don't just feature a ticket design, they actually act as a ticket for Berlin's public transit system. The sneaker will be released in collaboration with BVG, Berlin's most prominent transport system.
The trainers themselves won't be granting you access through the train's turnstiles, but they will come with a free physical pass for Berlin’s public transport– valid from the January 16th through December 31, 2018. Given that they’re available for roughly $215 USD and an annual transit pass in Berlin costs Roughly $871 USD, that's a damn good deal for sneakers and transportation for a year.
The adidas EQT Support 93/"Berlin" will release Tuesday, January 16th at the adidas flagship store in Berlin and Overkill sneakers. Only 500 pairs of the sneakers will be released, so be sure to act fast if you're looking for an extra reason to tour Germany in 2018.
