A PSA from Give Blood NHS sparked a conversation on Twitter today after the donation service explained in GIF-friendly terms why they've been trying to encourage more black people to become regular donors.

Despite some people suggesting that the notion was racist since 'isn't everyone's blood the same' the account explained that more black donors were needed because some ethnicities are prone to certain blood cell disorders and require specific blood types.

Already Give Blood has launched initiatives to spread the word about donation, such as working with MOBO and reaching out to local church communities, however we reckon this Twitter PSA may just be the one to help encourage a conversation and get more black donors signed up.

Let's give it up to the folks behind the Give Blood NHS twitter account today and their GIF skills.
