Trailer For Woody Allen's New Film Takes Kate Winslet To Coney Island
Cult filmmaker Woody Allen has a new film hitting cinemas this year, led by a star-filled cast of Kate Winslet, Jim Belushi and Justin Timberlake. As Kate Winslet explains to Entertainment Weekly, the mob drama, dubbed Wonder Wheel, revolves around:
"Ginny, the wife of a carousel operator, who perks up when she falls for a handsome lifeguard. But when her husband's estranged daughter resurfaces and also sets her sights on Mickey, it begins 'the great unraveling of Ginny."
A dramatic first trailer expands on the synopsis of the film with Justin Timberlake as handsome Coney Island lifeguard, Mickey, whom Ginny, played Kate Winslet, and her husband's estranged daughter, Carolina, played by Juno Temple, fall for. The conundrum creates a tricky love triangle which causes the unraveling of Ginny to take place.
In conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Winslet explained how trying, yet rewarding, the film process was:
“There was not one single moment that I was not utterly terrified. It’s an incredibly complicated character — maybe the most complicated female character I’ve ever had the challenge of grappling with.”
The first footage from the film will appear ahead of the project on October 14 at this year's New York Film Festival. Wonder Wheel will hit cinemas December 1. See the trailer for yourself, below.
