The 50 Best Movie Soundtracks Of The 21st Century

The website The Playlist has selected 50 songs and clips from soundtracks of numerous movies that marked the twenty-first century so far (these original OSTs are sometimes enough to make their reputation).

Among the elected composers, we find artists like Daft Punk, Air and RZA who, thanks to being thus solicited by movie studios, have greatly benefited from this experience and expanded their musical universe. It’s no surprise that Hans Zimmer and John Murphy top the ranking.

The first place however goes to Nick Cave and Warren Ellis for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, directed in 2007 by Andrew Dominik. The second place goes to the OST for There Will Be Blood (Paul Thomas Anderson) composed by Jonny Greenwood, closely followed by the very contemplative Under the Skin (Jonathan Glazer) by Mica Levi.
