The First Image From The David Bowie Biopic Starring Johnny Flynn Is Here
And he doesn't look a whole lot like the late singer...
The first image of Johnny Flynn as David Bowie is now here. The British actor, best known for his role in the series Lovesick, will be playing David pre-Bowie in a story focusing on the famous singer's first road trip to the United States in 1971. The movie will attempt to unravel the creative process behind Bowie's most famous alter ego: the eccentric Ziggy Stardust.
Despite this highly promising pitch, Stardust hasn't earned the backing of David Bowie's family, who own the rights to his work. That means that none of the singer's music will be used in the film, as Duncan Jones, director of the movies Moon and Source Code and Bowie's son, explained on Twitter.
Im not saying this movie is not happening. I honestly wouldn't know.— Duncan Jones (@ManMadeMoon) January 31, 2019
Im saying that as it stands, this movie won't have any of dads music in it, & I can't imagine that changing. If you want to see a biopic without his music or the families blessing, thats up to the audience.
No release date for the movie has yet been confirmed.
