'Soul', The New Pixar Movie, Is Unveiled In A Witty Trailer
What you would be want to be known for on Earth? What is the soul? So many questions raised by this trailer.
It is on a few musical notes that the first Soul trailer is unveiled, the new animated film Pixar with the voice of Jamie Foxx, but also Tina Fey, Daveed Diggs, and the producer and DJ Questlove. After Monsters Inc, Up there and Inside Out, Pete Docter, artistic director of the studio and holder of two Oscars for Best Animated Film, returns to the Pixar studios with Kemp Powers for an original creation. And the Disney subsidiary seems to have taken a completely different turn since its last film, Toy Story 4.
The two filmmakers first take us through the teeming streets of New York City before propelling us into an unknown place, where humans are devoid of their appearance to become small beings of light, which are very reminiscent of the world of Inside Out.
The trailer asks many philosophical questions: "What you would be want to be known for on Earth? What is your goal in life? What is the soul?" At the same time, when Pixar announced its project in June, the studio clearly preferred to abuse the questions in its summary: "Have you ever wondered where your passions, dreams, and interests came from? Which makes you... You?" Let's meditate on this teaser-trailer, less headstrong than it looks:
Soul will be released on June 19, 2020.
