Here Is The First Image Of Daniel Radcliffe's Crazy New Project

‘Guns Akimbo’ looks crazy, like the latest films of the British actor.

Since the end of the Harry Potter saga, Daniel Radcliffe has tried to get out of his comfort zone by choosing projects that are the opposite of his role as a gentle wizard. Unfortunately, it has not got him the recognition he deserves so far.  Between the biopic on Allen Ginsberg Kill Your Darlings, the role of the young supernatural horned owl in Alexander Aja's Horns, his role as Igor in Victor Frankenstein, or his interpretation of a serial-farter corpse in the totally mad Swiss Army Man, one cannot blame him for not taking risks.

Even if everything is not perfect, far from it, each new project of the actor intrigues. Just for the synopsis, Guns Akimbo, his next film, arouses our curiosity. The movie will follow a young man (Radcliffe, then), who finds himself trapped in a giant role-playing game, where he must fight strangers in a completely hostile city - all in front of millions of spectators hooked on this show broadcast live around the world.

So, yes, the plot is reminiscent of Running Man - a 1987 film with Schwarzenegger based on a book of the same name by Stephen King (written under his alias, Richard Bachman) - where a man voluntarily finds himself in a similar survival game called The Great Stalk.

But the project remains intriguing, as this first burning image proves, which features a lot of explosions and action.

Images of the shooting had also leaked. We could see the actor in a strange situation, which we imagine would happen shortly after his awakening in the "game": he is in bad shape, obviously on the verge of a nervous breakdown, armed and in his bathrobe. We love it.

For now, Guns Akimbo has no release date - but we should know more soon, as the film will be screened at the Toronto Festival in the coming weeks.
