Disappointment: Harry Styles Refuses To Play Eric In The Live-Action 'The Little Mermaid'
We thought he had accepted... But no, no, no
Last night, we heard some news that warmed our hearts: Harry Styles, who had been approached to play Eric in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, had accepted the role. The problem is that, a few hours later, The Wrap refuted the information by claiming that he actually said no.
A false hope, which made us imagine Halle Bailey in the arms of the former singer of the One Direction. Of course, Harry Styles calls himself a "fan of the project" of live-action but believes that other actors would be better suited to play Eric. Variety assured that the studio would currently be falling back on other potential actors and that the lucky winner would be announced very soon.
After his role in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk in 2017, we hoped to see Harry Styles again very soon in another successful film. Looks like we'll have to be a little more patient. As for the film La Petite Sirène, it should only be released in 2021, with a production that will begin in early 2020.
