The unforgettable star of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and My Fair Lady is about to be the subject of a TV series produced by the Wildside company (The Young Pope and My Brilliant Friend) Variety reports, adding the shooting won’t start until 2020.

The mini-series, which has no official name yet, will be written by Luca Dotti, Audrey Hepburn’s son, with the help of Italian journalist Luigi Spinola. Dotti’s father was Italian psychiatrist Andrea Dotti, whom Hepburn married in 1970 and divorced 10 years later. Dotti and Spinola will work from the book they wrote together in 2015: Audrey at Home. One of a kind, the bestseller is part-biography, part-cookbook. It combines anecdotes, excerpts from Hepburn’s correspondence, her recipes and unpublished family photographs

According to Wildside, the tv series will explore the early years of the actress, who received an Oscar for her role in the famous movie Roman Holiday, released in 1954. That is the extent of what we know so far about this project which is as tantalizing as it is hazardous since it comes with an important question: who will be able to embody Audrey Hepburn, to offer a faithful transposition of her grace, talent, and freedom? The future will tell...
