At 98 years old, Tao Porchon-Lynch is the oldest yoga instructor in the world, and just watching her makes you want to give humanity a hug.

"Anything is possible, nothing is impossible" – that's Tao's philosophy, and she might just be the pillar of wisdom that we want to follow. This New Yorker that grew up in India has got life sussed, and yoga in particular.

At almost 100 years old, this lady has taught all over the world for 75 years. For decades, she's woken up at 5 AM to spread out her yoga mat and get going, the art that she first discovered in India aged only 8.

A way of life based on optimism might just be the reason for her longevity, but also her joy of life. "When you wake up every morning, say 'This is going to be the best day of my life' - and it will be." So simply put, with a smile on her angelic lips. And seeing how she lives, we believe her word for word.

Yet, when Tao first discovered yoga at 8, she was told it wasn't for girls. But who cares, Tao started learning anyway and became the legendary B.K.S. Iyengar's first female student, and he welcomed her with open arms. The young girl mastered the art, and went on to practice every single day – decade after decade. And her students are delighted.

"Know that the joy of living is right inside of you - but live it, believe in it!" An inspiring lady, a force of nature - you can see immediately her wisdom and her strength.
