These Resistance-Themed 'Star Wars' Sneakers Are Made Using Pineapple Leaves

Ahead of the highly anticipated premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in December, Lucasfilm and Disney have teamed up with and London-based shoemaker Po-Zu to create a limited-edition vegan sneaker for women made out of pineapple leaves.

The high-top Silver Resistance sneaker is made out of silver woven linen and PiñaTex, a sustainable textile made with pineapple leaf fibers that, aside from not harming animals, is also friendly to the environment during its production process.

"We want them to be comfortable, collectible, and wearable. This sneaker has all of that and more. I love that it is vegan, too," Sven Segal, founder of Po-Zu, said in a statement to Inhabitat.

The design of the metallic shoe channels the rogue spirit of Rey and features an official Rebel Alliance badge on the side to show where your allegiance stands.

The kicks are going to be limited to 1,000 pairs, each stamped with a unique number on the tongue's lining. The shoe is now available for pre-order, with an estimated delivery date in October, for $130.

The limited-edition shoe is part of a full Star Wars-inspired collection by the brand, where you can get other sneakers and even faux fur Chewbacca boots!
