In a very short time span, Pokémon Go has taken over many areas of our lives.
In just a couple of weeks, it went from being just an addictive augmented reality game that makes you do a few extra laps around the block, to a criminal justice mechanism, a social awareness measure and even very naughty looking sex toys!
So it was just a matter of minutes before the Pokémania swept fashion world as well. And so it happened today thanks to two creative UX designers from Portland, Gene Lu and Duncan Hoge.
The pair launched a project called PokeID, which features a variety of Nike shoes designed after the many Pokémon characters, including Pikachu and Charmeleon.
The project was launched both on Tumblr and Instagram. Lu and Hoge used Nike's online customization service, Nike iD, to create a series of kicks colored after the Pokémon. By simply clicking on the photo, the viewer is sent through to the Nike store where they can purchase their favorite shoe.
There are currently 39 Poké-Nikes available, but new ones are popping up as users can also upload their own designs, Glossy reports.
