Ben & Jerry’s is going vegan. Flavor maker Kirsten Schimoler experimented for nearly a year before hitting upon the right formulas for a new range of ice creams, according to Mashable.
The four vegan flavors include two "best-sellers" – 'Chunky Monkey' and 'Chocolate Fudge Brownie' – alongside two fresh options: 'Coffee Caramel Fudge' and 'Peanut Butter and Cookies'.
The demand for a no-animal products option has been there for years, Erin Beglin, the company's global marketing representative, told Mashable. "Fans wanted all the fun flavors, chunks and swirls, just without the dairy — and that’s exactly what we’ve delivered."
The company teamed up with Vegan Action in order to score a 100% vegan certification.
