Avocados are pretty universal and taste just as good when spread on a toast, diced into a salad or even worked into a bar of chocolate. But now people are using the shells of these mushy green fruit to drinking lattes from, and we're not totally sure why...
Dubbed the 'avolatte,' the trend seems to be global, with cafes in Turkey and Australia serving the bizarre drink to customers.
People have shared Instagram videos of the coffee being served, as well as Tweeting their dismay at the new fad.
Here's hoping that there aren't more avo-related accidents on the rise in the future. You know, like people spilling hot coffee on themselves because an avocado shell is a crappy excuse for a cup.
