Recently, we previewed Nike's 'Be True' collection and saw leaked images of Adidas' LGBTQ+ UltraBoost 3.0, both celebrating America's June Pride Month and encouraging equal rights for all people around the world.
Now, Adidas has released official images for its full 2017 line of vibrant Pride Collection sneakers, which will see a limited release this Thursday, June 1st.
Adidas' full Pride Collection for this June consists of four sneaker silhouettes: the classic Superstar model, the ever-popular UltraBoost runner, the EQT Support ADV and a basketball performance shoe, the Crazy Explosive low-top.
While the design approach for each sneaker was different, each colorway revolves around the same iconic Pride rainbow theme.
The Superstar model is by far the loudest design, with rainbow polka dots running the length of the shoe's upper. The shoe made its debut back in 1969, roughly at the same time as the Stonewall Riots and civil rights were very much at the forefront of the national consciousness. Perhaps that's why they went for the showier retro look.
In contrast, the three contemporary models opt for a more neutral black-and-white canvas decorated with subtler, cleaner, more integrated color schemes.
The UltraBoost is sure to be the best seller out of this pack, but this pair of Crazy Explosive lows are definitely the most unique in the collection.
As a little added bonus, Adidas quietly dropped a pair of "Rainbow multi-color" PureBoost LTDs. They're technically not part of the Pride Collection, but they are definitely in line with the Pride theme.
No word yet on pricing, but it's safe to assume the four models will be pegged at Adidas' typical retail price points. The Adidas Pride Collection will drop first thing on the morning of June 1st in full men's, women's and children's sizes.
What better way to show your Pride this June than keeping your feet laced in some incredibly comfy Adidas kicks with a positive message of equality behind them?
