Survey Ranks The 32 Most Exciting Cities In The World

After reaching out to more than 15,000 people across 32 global cities, Time Out has come up with its own breakdown of the most exciting places to be in 2018. Using its City Life Index, the publication has ranked the cities across various categories including food, drink, culture, friendliness, affordability, happiness and liveability.

Chicago is officially this year's top city thanks to its bars, music scene, culture and affordability. In second place overall, Porto is named as the best place to make friends and find love – no surprise given its residents feel "free to be themselves". Finally, despite the fact that New York is described as one of the "most stressed" cities, it makes the top-three thanks to its great nightlife scene.

London is one of the "world's best cities for culture and eating", but its poor liveability rating (owing to long commutes and "the most stress") pushed it down to fifth place. Austin ranks first for best live music, while Parisians are apparently having the most sex. Check out the ranking in full below.
