Watch Slipknot's Corey Taylor Perform A Gritty Cover Of 'SpongeBob SquarePants'

Corey Taylor is perhaps best known for his heavy metal vocals in Slipknot. But it turns out, the musician can also perform a pretty mean rendition of the SpongeBob SquarePants intro.

"Are you ready kids?" (Image: Kyle Gaddo via Flickr CC)

In a video posted online in 2011, Taylor can be seen at the Social club in Orlando, Florida performing an acoustic set under the name CMFT (Corey Mutha' Fuckin' Taylor).

After speaking to the crowd during an interval, he looks to take a request from the member of the audience, saying "you want that one?!" in a rather bewildered manner. Within a second or two Taylor launches into the song. "Are ya ready kids," he howls.

Naturally, the whole event then turned into a good old-fashioned sing-along.

As one YouTuber writes: "Never thought I'd see Corey Taylor, the lead singer of one of the most iconic heavy metal bands, sing fucking Spongebob Squarepants". Enjoy.
