Filming of the second season of The Handmaid's Tale has officially begun, giving Hulu the perfect opportunity to hype us up with a premiere date: we now know that the second round of the hit show is set to commence in April 2018.
As a reminder, season one ended on a nail-biting cliffhanger which saw Offred (Elisabeth Moss) being pushed into a van, the destination of which remains unclear. Has she been saved by the resistance or is she getting ready for a new form of punishment?
Given what we've seen of Gilead so far, we don't have high hopes for a positive outcome. Especially since Hulu has teased that the season two plot will be based on "Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead."
Season two will be made up of thirteen episodes, which is three more than we got in season one. The most-watched series in Hulu history, the last installment was awarded no fewer than eight Emmy wins. Here's hoping the second season can live up to the glory of the first.
You can catch season two of The Handmaid's Tale from April 2018.
