Launched on October 13 on Netflix, Mindhunter is already a hit: it's hard to remain unscathed from this dive into the psyche of serial killers. It has made a big impact on the 'Master of Horror' Stephen King in any case, who can't praise David Fincher's new series enough.
The cult author appreciates the fact that there's "very little gore", which is a tad weird, considering he gave us such things as Carrie, The Shining and Mr. Mercedes (the latest TV adaptation of his work). It appears that he was impressed by the more psychological approach to the theme.
Viewers hypersensitive to blood and guts need not worry then, although the violence, if not actually explicit, is nonetheless pretty much omnipresent, but in a different way. Thanks to the methodology used by FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), we get to explore the tortured mind of serial killers, but we do so at our own risks.
Stephen King is not the only to have fallen in love with Mindhunter, as the series is scoring a solid 95 on Rotten Tomatoes. Check it out on Netflix, if you dare.
