SZA's Video For 'The Weekend' Is Here And Fans Are...Confused

UPDATED on December 22, 2017:

Alright guys, the long-awaited Solange-directed music video for SZA's "The Weekend" is here and...well, fans are having a lot of emotions. For starters, as many have pointed out, the video very much resembles (is basically part. II of) Solange's "Cranes In The Sky" music video, which she directed as well.

There were a lot of specific expectations fans had based on the imagery the song itself painted – of playing games with a fine man and straddling the world of being the side chick – so the more stripped down video has come as somewhat of a surprise for diehard SZA fans who wanted to see the storyline come to life.

Creative expression is all for the artist to control, however, so maybe this is what SZA and Solange were really going for. Either way , we'll just let you watch for yourself and get a feel for what Twitter has to say. Spoiler alert, they mad:

SZA's sophomore studio album CTRL has catapulted the career of the 26-year-old New Jersey-native into a stratosphere higher than anyone could have foreseen for the TDE signee. Having just been released in June of this year, CTRL has been already garnered critical acclaim and global attention.

Solange has situated a space of her own this year with the release of her third studio album, Seat At The Table, which acts as a painfully soulful piece of admiration for black artistry and culture.

Speaking to USA Today, SZA unveiled that a music video for album track "The Weekend" has already been shot with Mrs. Knowles guiding the project. While she won't give any specific details regarding what to expect, SZA did explain the video would feature 10 different locations and looks.
