Season 7 Of 'American Horror Story' Will Feature Archive Footage Of Trump And Clinton

Little is known about the new season of American Horror Story, except that the heart of the plot will be Trump's presidential elections. More accurately, Ryan Murphy revealed that Season 7 was going to start on count night. What we do know however is that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will headline the cast.

The showrunner, used to poaching actors from his own series, also hired Billie Lourd, the daughter of late Carrie Fisher, who played in Scream Queens. Newcomer Billy Eichner, spotted in Parks and Recreation, completes the cast. Well, the flesh and blood cast anyhow.

In an interview for E!, Ryan Murphy finally revealed how Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were actually going to appear in the show. It’s not the way we thought it would be, that for sure, as he will use archive footage:

“We don't have actors playing them. You'll see them on television. The first 10 minutes of the season, this season, takes place in a very eerie macabre way on election night and there's something terrible that happens in the lives of our characters on election night as they're watching it all go down. Which in itself was a horror story, so it's like a horror story upon a horror story.”

OK, so this is a bit of a disappointment, but at least now we know (although we know that Ryan Murphy is a master at teasing American Horror Story). Nevertheless, while we are waiting for real news (like the actual title of this new season for example), the fact of not knowing whether Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton would be appearing for real in the show did feel like mental torture.

American Horror Story will returns for a seventh season on FX from September.
