Ladies and gentleman, this is not a drill. News has officially broken that Rihanna and actress Lupita Nyong'o are set to star in a buddy movie inspired by a now hugely viral tweet.
And it gets even better: Netflix will be producing the endeavor, so you know it's about to be lit.
It all started from a Tumblr post from nearly three years ago which showcases Rihanna and Nyong'o sitting front seat at a 2014 Miu Miu fashion show.
In the Tumblr post, a user describes the duo as appearing as if "they’re in a heist movie with Rihanna as the tough-as-nails leader/master thief and Lupita as the genius computer hacker."
One Twitter user even added more context to the already wildly bright idea:

Rihanna looks like she scams rich white men and lupita is the computer smart best friend that helps plan the scans https://t.co/PhWs1xd3nj— WHOOPHERASSKOURTNI (@1800SADGAL) April 18, 2017
In just 48 hours, the image completely swept across the Twitter-sphere, making its way to Lupita who not only gave her seal of approval, but showed actual interest.
Nyong'o sealed the deal by then soliciting Riri's feedback, which showed all signs pointed to yaaaas.

Naturally, Twitter jumped into action hand-picking the remainder of the necessary team, calling for Selma director Ava DuVernay to helm the directorial duties and screenwriter and actress Issa Rae of HBO series "Insecure" to write the script.
After just a couple of months of conversation – DuVernay explains there was some texting between the four ladies and some "interesting conversations" produced – the pipe dream is now a full-fledged reality.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Netflix has secured the deal and is shooting for a 2018 start date to begin filming once DuVernay wraps up production on her Disney-produced film, A Wrinkle In Time.
In the mean time, if you're getting antsy while waiting for this iconic flick to drop, get familiar with Issa Rae's HBO series Insecure, which receives its second season debut this July.
