Currently in pre-production, we're starting to learn a little more about Quentin Tarantino's feature, known only as the elusive title #9 for now. Set to be based around Charles Manson's murders, the legendary filmmaker seems to have gone all out on the casting budget for the new movie with basically all the biggest names in Hollywood tied to this one production.
While we already knew that Margot Robbie had been approached to play one of the serial killers' victims, Deadline has now reported that Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio AND Samuel L. Jackson are all in discussions.
Once upon a time, there was even talk of Jennifer Lawrence climbing aboard, but no casting commitments have been made at this point.
As it goes, we also know that the director is on the hunt for a new studio to produce the project with all his films up to now having been produced by the devil that is Harvey Weinstein and/or Miramax. Apparently, all the major Hollywood studios, with the exception of Disney, are reading the script this week, with a deal to be set within the next two weeks.
Mysteriously enough, the publication also reports that it has been suggested that calling the movie a film about the Charles Manson murders would be "akin to calling Inglourious Basterds a movie about Adolf Hitler, when the Nazi leader was only in a scene or two." Interesting...
