A Dragon Ball Z-Themed Monopoly Game Is In The Works

In 2016, Manga Story stores in Paris did a terrible April Fools joke on French fans of Dragon Ball Z when they announced the arrival of a Monopoly set based on the Japanese franchise.

While we already have Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead versions of Monopoly, fans of Son Goku were left wanting by the famous board game – until now! The day has finally arrived and all signs point to Monopoly invoking Shenron to grant our wishes.

You can already pre-order Dragon Ball Z Monopoly on the USAopoly site, but the release date has not yet been announced. The game will be sold for $39.95 when it comes out. As usual, the game creators have gone to great lengths to incorporate all the elements of Dragon Ball Z into the basic concept.

As for the six collectible tokens, they'll include Trunk's Sword, a DynoCap, a 4-Star Dragon Ball, Dragon Radar, Saiyan Armor and a Turtle Shell. In the game, you can recruit warriors like Son Goku, Son Gohan, Vegeta and Future Trunks, all in Super Saiyan form.

The Monopoly houses are transformed into Kame Houses, and the hotels have been turned into the Hyperbolic Time Chambers found in Kami's palace. The Chance and Community Chest cards have been replaced by Capsule Corp. and Red Ribbon Army cards.

As excited as we are, the first images of the game make us think it's still just a prototype. The "Go to Jail," "Just Visiting" and "Parking" squares look like like the classic version.

It will be a little disappointing if the game creators don't make full use of the gigantic Dragon Ball Z universe with places like Namek and Kai's Planet, or the Demon Realm.
