The last season of Game of Thrones is not scheduled before the end of 2018 (or even early 2019 if the production takes too long), but that doesn't mean we won't see Kit Harington on our screens before that. Phew.
Ditching Westeros for another kind of rebellion, the actor will soon headline Gunpowder, a new historical drama from UK channel BBC. And if you thought he was pissed with the White Walkers, that's nothing compared to his new role.
Gunpowder, a three-episode miniseries centers on the Gunpowder plot, whose aim was to blow the King and the Parliament to smithereens (we're talking fifteenth-century Britain there). Harington will play Robert Catesby, the leader of the conspirators.
Of course, we already know how the all whole thing is going to end: on the eve of the planned attack, an anonymous letter will give the plot away and the would-be perpetrators will be arrested and executed.
Fun fact: Kit Harington confided that he is actually a descendant of Robert Catesby, for real. Did he accept this role as a kind of homage to his forefather? Who knows. In any case, the trailer looks pretty cool and we can't wait to watch Harington in Tom Hardy mode, ready to kick major medieval ass.
