In a recent interview with Deadline, director Jordan Peele spoke out about the possibility of giving his hit thriller Get Out a follow-up film. Widely praised since its release earlier this year, the movie has just been nominated for a Golden Globe – even if it is competing as a comedy (?) – and was one of the most profitable films of the year.
It's no great surprise, then, that the idea of a sequel isn't off the table.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed for the moment, but the filmmaker seems to be open to the possibility. As he explained:
"I haven’t decided anything yet and I am allowing the creative part to bubble up, and not force it. I know if a follow-up is meant to happen, it will. I’m open to figuring out what it is.
But I also don’t want to let down the original and its fans. I simply would not do something like that for the cash."
Speaking a few months ago, Jason Blum of Blumhouse productions said he would absolutely be on board for a sequel but only if Peele was its writer and producer. Considering the enormous talent of Jordan Peele, we're 100% behind any projects he has to offer. Fingers crossed.
