Jessica Lange May Return To 'American Horror Story' Next Season

It's June 2016, and we're right between seasons of American Horror Story. On the Charlie Rose show, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and fans wipe away their tears when they learn that for Jessica Lange, the horror adventures with FX will end there.

The news hits hard for the show creators who are losing the muse for their best show, even though Sarah Paulson and Lady Gaga will be there to carry the torch down the road.

As for the viewers, they're saying goodbye to a brilliant actress who played extravagant and fascinating characters like Constance Langdon, Sister Jude Martin, Fiona Goode and Elsa Mars flawlessly.

But Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk can rest assured this year. The horror series is doing so well that after a surprising season 6, FX has ordered three more seasons.

It's especially exciting because Roanoke confirmed some of the oldest fan theories in the book: namely, that the various American Horror Story worlds, and the characters within them, are interconnected.

To make the easter egg hunt official, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are going to produce an actual season that brings the worlds of Murder House  and Coven together.

Lange and demon

So we can expect the actors who have passed the threshold of the haunted house and the coven of witches to make a big comeback. Regulars on the show like Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Denis O'Hare will most likely be present as well.

But for Ryan Murphy, as he explained to TV Guide, Jessica Lange is definitely someone they want to bring in this season:

"I think she would if I bribed her enough, you know?" the creator said. "I haven't really talked to her about it at all because we are still figuring out that story, but I think we do want to do that."

If the 67-year-old actress accepts, she might take up the role of Fiona or Constance a second time. Or why not both at once, since we know Ryan Murphy isn't afraid of anything, not even transforming Sarah Paulson into a two-headed freak!

For now, Jessica Lange's agenda is wide open, even though the showrunner may decide to cast her again in season 2 of Feud, which will focus in on the tragic couple Prince Charles and Princess Di.
