Jake Gyllenhaal Rumored To Replace Ben Affleck As Batman

The organization of the latest Batman movie has been nothing short of chaos.

First of all, we heard that Ben Affleck was set to direct and star in the movie before he then decided to give it a pass and was replaced by director Matt Reeves.

Beyond that, we still don't know who the film's villain is going to be, or if Affleck is going to take part at all – especially given his recent dicey performance in Justice League

While rumors of Affleck's participation are still swirling, a new name has now been attached to the role, that of Jake Gyllenhaal.

No stranger to rumors about superhero roles, Gyllenhaal was apparently on the shortlist to replace Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2, was considered to play Rick Flag in Suicide Squad and also rumored to play Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

Apparently, he has already met with Matt Reeves but, as Collider reports, nothing is set in stone yet. According to a source:

"That is the name that was floated. There has been some conversations, but it's not a sure thing this is happening. It's not a lock, it may not happen."

But it seems that 'Gyllenhaal' is the only name floating right now, which seems like a good omen... It also looks like Warner is waiting to see how Justice League performs before making a final decision. Hopefully, we'll know more in the coming weeks.
