Ever since he camped Cook in Skins, Jack O’Connell's career has taken off. He appeared in Angelina Jolie's Invincible and Jodie Foster's Money Monster, and shared screen time with the likes of Rosamund Pike and Eva Green.
So here's some good news for fans of both Skins and westerns flicks: Jack O’Connell is back with Godless, a series produced by Netflix and directed by Steven Soderbergh.
The master of heist movies dumps Jack O’Connell, Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber) and Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) right in the middle of the Wild West. These three characters are linked together by their need for vengeance.
The leader of a gang of outlaws, Frank Griffin is after Roy Good, an ex-gang member who betrayed him. Roy seeks refuge in La Belle, a town in New Mexico headed by widow Alice Fletcher and a group of ruthless badass chicks.
The characters are not planning the heist of the century though, but struggle to simply survive in this no man’s land controlled by merciless women broadly inspired from western-era icons such as Calamity Jane and Annie Oakley.
Godless is at the moment limited to one season, but who knows, Netflix could very well renew it if it does well.
The first season of Godless will be available in full on Netflix from November 22.
