J. Cole has pulled out all the stops to announce the release of a new album, expected this week. It all began yesterday when the rapper suddenly deleted every post on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, changing his profile pics to a purple circle on a white background.
After catching the attention of the world, the Dreamville-signed artist then broke his silence, revealing the release date for his latest disc, entitled KOD, for this Friday 20 April.

It seems as though J. Cole's return has been on the cards for some time, after an exclusive track was used in an ad aired during the NBA playoffs. He then went on to organise a surprise concert in New York where cameras, phones and bags were prohibited to keep things strictly confidential.
According to Rap Radar journalist Brian Miller, who was at the event, the private session was attended by a handful of lucky guests who heard an exclusive preview of the disc. He also notes that the album has twelve tracks, experiments with flow and was recorded in just two weeks. KOD comes just two years after the album 4 Your Eyez Only.
