Gorillaz Announce First Live Interview Featuring Murdoc And 2-D

Gorillaz seem to be in the mood for new firsts this week.

After announcing their first North American tour in 7 years, two of the group's cartoon members are poised to conduct their very first live interview with BBC Radio 1 DJ and host MistaJam.

March and April have been busy months ahead of Gorillaz' forthcoming record Humanz, their first since 2010's The Fall.

The band recently played a massive comeback show in London, their Spirit House installation opens in New York this weekend (before traveling to Berlin and Amsterdam) and now, we'll be getting some intimate camera time from two of our favorite Gorillaz.

Now, it's been announced that the virtual characters 2-D (keys/vocals) and Murdoc (bass) will be taking questions on camera via YouTube live stream on April 20th.

Murdoc took to the Gorillaz Twitter account to whip up some excitement:

The "online event of the century," you say? That's one way to command attention I suppose. The Murdoc/2-D duo previously gave an audio interview for an iTunes Session in 2010, but an on-camera interview is an entirely new frontier.

An added bonus: fans (just like you!) will have the chance to submit questions by clicking over to the live stream page and commenting in the live chat box.

Here's everything you need to know about Humanz - just so you can be nice and informed and ask some awesome questions. Check out the video for "Saturn Barz" below, and prepare yourselves for the Murdoc/2-D live stream on 4/20 at 10am EST/3PM BST.
