Gorillaz Announce Their First Tour Of North America In 7 Years

We recently brought you news of Gorillaz' immersive "Spirit House" installations in cities across the globe ahead of the release of their new album Humanz.

Many speculated that those installations were a precursor to a larger announcement from the band, and today we got just that...

Gorillaz have confirmed that they will embark on a tour of North America this summer, their first in 7 years.

The itinerary for the Humanz tour will see Damon Albarn and crew traversing back and forth across the U.S.-Canadian border, with a brief interlude taking the band to Niigata, Japan for Fuji Rock 2017.

Kicking off their string of North American dates, Gorillaz will perform at Chicago's Huntington Bank Pavilion July 8th.

Gorillaz will also take a spin on the U.S. festival circuit as part of their tour, including shows at San Francisco's star-studded Outside Lands, New York City's Meadows Music & Arts Festival, the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, and Miami's III Points.

Gorillaz' forthcoming record features guest spots by amazing artists such as Grace Jones, Mavis Staples, Danny Brown, De La Soul, Pusha T, Kali Uchis, and many more. At the band's recent London show, many of the Humanz guests joined Gorillaz on stage. So expect plenty of surprise appearances on their North American tour.
