Dita Von Teese Shares Another Track From Her Upcoming Solo Album

UPDATED on January 16, 2018:

Back in November, burlesque star Dita von Teese shared the first glimpse into upcoming solo album written and produced by Sébastien Tellier. Now, she is back with yet another track – "Bird of Prey" – that, according to the producer, should evoke "Dita flying above the world, hunting the tiny men on its surface with her eagle eye."

Dita von Teese is set to arrive on February 16, 2018, and is already available for pre-order.

Anyone who has a soft spot for sultry female vocals and the breezy melodies of funk-pop should be excited about this release: world-famous burlesque performer, model and fashion designer Dita Von Teese is one step closer to releasing her first-ever album, and now can have a taste of it thanks to the first officially shared song, "Rendez-vous."

Premiering exclusively on Rolling Stone, the song is first of the 10-track LP written and produced by Sébastien Tellier, a famous French singer and songwriter who's worked with names like Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk and Jean-Michel Jarre in the past. According to Von Teese:

"I've been a fan of [Sébastien's] music for a long time, and whenever I would perform in Paris, I would invite him to my shows just to meet him.

I got an email from his manager saying that Sébastien wrote a record for me. I gave them the disclaimer that I'm not a singer [and] it's way out of my comfort zone, but how could I say no?"

This isn't the first time Von Teese appeared on singles, though, as she has recorded with Monarchy and Die Antwoord. However, the self-titled LP is her first debut as a solo artist. She agrees it is somewhat of a challenge to hear her voice being used beyond burlesque soundtracks.

"With my burlesque music, I think about visuals of the performance first, and it’s all about the glamour, the fantasy and drama. This album comes from a more vulnerable place [...]"

Dita Von Teese's album is set to drop sometime in February of 2018. For now, give the sensual track "Rendez-vous" a go.
