Diddy is a pop culture enigma; from his random bouts of dancing to his extreme showcases of enthusiasm, he's one of the most multi-faceted entertainers of our generation.
As 2017's highest paid person in music, we know he's still progressing on the business front, with his own signature Vodka and successful stakes in fashion brand Sean John. But now, Diddy wants to take his entrepreneurship to new heights by purchasing an NFL team.
He made the announcement on Twitter this week, Tweeting out, "ATTN all @NFL owners, it’s time for diversity!! It’s time for Black ownership!! The time is now. Let’s make it happen!!" This Tweet was followed with an even more straight-to-the-point follow-up, with him outwardly saying:
"I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!"
The Carolina Panthers' owner Jerry Richardson is selling the franchise after an investigation into alleged workplace sexual misconduct was put into effect. Also, he's in hot water for allegedly using a racial slur, as one complaint shows. In a statement, Richardson said the sales process would commence after the season.

There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history.— Diddy (@Diddy) December 18, 2017
Diddy saw fit to take this unfortunate opportunity and turn it into a total win for the league and for black visibility in the sports ownership arena.
In a video he posted to Instagram, Diddy exclaims "I need to send a message out to everyone in the beautiful state of North Carolina. I would be the best NFL owner that you could imagine."
He continues, explaining, "I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year's starting running back. Also, I will have the best half-time show, the best selection of music and we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl."
Since Colin Kaepernick has been a free agent ever since leaving the San Francisco 49ers earlier this year, Diddy could right a huge wrong made by the lack of owners stepping up to give Kaepernick a new team and new platform.
Additionally, Diddy could very well join the ranks of Michael Jordan, Robert L. Johnson and Sheila Johnson as some of the only black people to own national sports team.
He would be the one and only black NFL team owner in the entire league, after Reggie Fowler, who once owned stakes in the Minnesota Vikings. So, are you guys ready to see Diddy do the damn thing? Cause we are.
