After committing to training with Australian club, Central Coast Mariners FC, Usain Bolt featured in a friendly match for them.
Although he played for only 20 minutes and – according to some people – tired out rather quickly, the club has decided to give him another shot. This time, the world’s fastest man will play in a pre-season match set to hold on October 12.
MacArthur Advertiser reports that the Mariners will use the match to give Bolt more exposure, as he aims to strike a professional contract with a club. Considering that the club will assess him come January 2019, this could be his last chance to prove he’s s not a sideshow.
Meanwhile, Bolt remains confident that he’s improving. Speaking about the upcoming match, he said:
"If I can actually score a goal for this club, that's me going in the right direction and showing them that the chance that they took on me is paying off.
Because scoring goals is what football is all about."
Just like in his last match, tickets for the upcoming game are selling fast as people are anxious to see the Olympic star in action.
