While the 'fitness movement' among Nigerians initially felt like a fad that would eventually die down, the ever-growing number of people who are actively trying to eat better, work out more and live generally healthier lives clearly proves otherwise.
The only problem is most Nigerians on this fitness train have a hard time finding places that actually make healthy meals that taste good and don't cost an arm and a leg.
This is why in 2014 – when the fitness movement was just beginning to take shape in Nigeria – two friends came together to create a whole foods and healthy beverage company, Oh So Nutrition.
With smoothies, juices, salads, hot meals and desserts, Oh So Nutrition is a one-stop online shop for Nigerians seeking a cleaner diet. What makes the company even cooler is that all their containers are eco-friendly and their ingredients are locally grown.
Speaking on their website about what inspired them to create the company, the founders said:
"With the hecticness of day to day life, we saw the need to help those, who like ourselves, truly wanted to change their ways and embrace a healthier lifestyle, to do so conveniently.
Breakfast was a chore, eating enough fruits and vegetables was tough and in all the business of the day to day, both of us separately started to suffer.
So, after sharing our personal challenges with one another, each having made many trips to see doctors and specialists, we both decided to fill the gap ourselves and that is how the company was born."
