This Video Shows The Evolution Of Stop-Motion Animation In Just 3 Minutes

Filmmakers have been working with and developing stop-motion animation since the beginning of film, and have given us classics like Nightmare before Christmas, Fantastic Mr Fox and most recently, Kubo and the Two Strings.

In honour of the release of Kubo, starring Charlize Theron, Vugar Efendi and aspiring filmmaker, made a 3-minute video showing the evolution of stop-motion animation, featuring films from the likes of Star Wars series, as well as many of Tim Burton's films. To view the whole list of  movies featured in the video, click here.

From the giant King Kong scaling the Empire State Building, to watching Sinbad battle the cyclops, to listening to Jack Skellington crooning in front of the moon, the video gives us a stunning reminder of some of our favourite films, and how long stop-motion animation has been used by filmmakers.
