While there are some people that, for whatever reason, legitimately enjoy spending time in the kitchen, the rest of us have at some point wondered why it takes long hours to cook a meal and only a few minutes to devour it.
Well, the stress that comes with preparing a typical meal from scratch is what inspired Onyekachi Ekezie to leave his engineering job and start Kaptain Food Limited.
Launched over two years ago, Kaptain Foods Limited is a food processing company that produces a blend of pre-cooked and packaged food products.
The company produces a range of "fully cooked" and packaged ready-to-eat tomato stews, from the 'mild' to the 'hot pot', using locally grown fresh produce and spices; and most importantly, completely free from any chemical additives or artificial preservatives.
Speaking with Guardian Nigeria about his company's mission, Kachi said:
"Cooking in the kitchen is culturally perceived as a role that should be led by women in our society.
But as an innovative company, we are positioned to continuously think of better ways to support lifestyles, reduce stress, and provide healthy food options regardless of gender."
